NAPPANEE – Steven Joe Hochstetler, 51, of 9423 W.   CR 1350N, Nappanee, died at noon March 8, 2013, in Elkhart General Hospital, where he was a patient since Tuesday. He had been ill with cancer for two years.
He was born July 9, 1961, in Elkhart, to Ernest R. and Mary Edna Chupp Hochstetler. On Nov. 10, 1983, in Nappanee, he married Etta Fern Schwartz, who survives.
A lifetime Nappanee resident, he had worked at Challenger Door and was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, KaLynn (and spouse Joel) Mast, Nappanee; five sons: Karl Dean (and spouse Melissa) Hochstetler, Mishawaka; Brian Eugene (and spouse Edna) Hochstetler, Nappanee; and Michael Ray, Timothy Adam and Joel  Devon Hochstetler, all at home; four grandchildren; his parents; seven sisters, Lorraine (and spouse Mark) Stutzman, Regina (and spouse Larry) Chupp and Amy (and spouse Virgil) Yoder, all of Nappanee,  and Sherry (and spouse Allen) Borkholder, Linda (and spouse Fred) Miller, Dianna (and spouse Eddie Ray) Borkholder, Vonda (and spouse Daryl) Yoder, all of Bremen; and two brothers, Ray (and spouse Leona) Hochstetler and Michael (and spouse Linda) Hochstetler, all of Nappanee.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the family residence with The Home Ministry of Old Order Amish Church officiating. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
Calling is after 3 p.m. Saturday and all day Sunday at the family residence.
