MENTONE – Steven J. McFarren, 56, rural Mentone, died 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born March 28, 1962, in Wabash, to Harry V. and Estella Compo McFarren.
He was a welder and a fabricator for Par-Kan for many years.
Steve served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 777 of Indianapolis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching TV.
Surviving are three daughters, which include Dawn (husband Justin) Evans; grandchildren, Jaedalin and Matthew; his mother, Estella Walker, Claypool; a brother, Terry (wife Windy) McFarren, Claypool; two half brothers, Russell (wife Karen) McFarren, Salem, Ark., and Larry (wife Sharon) Walker, Lafontaine; a half sister, Brenda Johnson, St. Genevieve, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry McFarren; stepfather, Allen Walker; and two half sisters, Sue Richmond and Sandra Haggerty.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at King Memorial Home.
