Stephen W. Bruner, 63, Akron, passed away at 4 a.m. April 12, 2016, in his home. He was born March 16, 1953, in Warsaw, to Alton and Mary Alice Bruner. On Aug. 20, 1972, he married Martha Kimberlin, who survives in Akron. They had 43 years together. He and his wife attended Mentone Church of Christ, where he went most of his life. He had a wonderful, caring church family. He worked at R.R. Donnelly & Sons for many years. He also worked at Warsaw Metal Products after retiring from Donnelly’s. He enjoyed his family and friends’ visits during his illness and made them welcome in his home. He had many interests, including fishing, hunting, farming and cutting his own wood to heat his home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved his family, especially the grandchildren. You could always see grandchildren running around his home. He was always helping those who had a need. He was a great example to others by being the best friend and helper that he could be, always thinking of someone else’s needs before his own. The last thing he did was donate his body to science for research and therefore is still helping others. He will be missed dearly by all the lives he touched. Also surviving are two daughter, Miranda S. VanDoren (and companion Scott) Farnsworth, Walton, and Angela K. (and spouse John) Tignor, Warsaw; one son, Alexander W.C. Bruner and friend, Mary Beeney, North Manchester; one son-in-law, Harold D. VanDoren, Akron; his father and mother, Burket; one sister, Ginny (and spouse Milford) Stephens, Beaver Dam; three brothers: Dennis (and Edna) Bruner, Warsaw, Douglas (and Martha) Bruner, Morganton, N.C., and Kyle (and spouse Lalanya) Bruner, Syracuse; his seven grandchildren: Trent, Trista, Kyle, Keagan, Addison, Adrienna and Maria; a great-grandson, Drake; many honorary grandchildren; andmany nieces and nephews.
