WALKERTON - Stephen Rozow Jr., 60, of North Webster, and formerly of South Bend and Mishawaka area, died Jan. 16, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born May 13, 1948, in South Bend, to Stephen Sr. and Alice Lehman Rozow. On June 15, 1968, he married Margurite A. Blankert, who died March 6, 1996. On Jan. 6, 1998, he married Carolyn S. Huffman, who survives.

He was chief custodian at Syracuse Elementary School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and receiving the Nation Defense Service Award, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of Syracuse Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 342.

Also surviving are a daughter, Christine A. (and spouse Brad) Troutman, North Webster; two sons, Stephen (and spouse Heidi) Rozow III, Milford, and Scott P. (and Christy) Rozow, Mishawaka; two stepdaughters, Renee Hieth, Columbia City, and Kristie Scott, Niles, Mich.; two sisters, Maria Morelli, Sugar Grove, Ill., and Diane Darnell, South Bend; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hanley & Sons Funeral Home, Walkerton, with Father David Porterfield officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
