NAPPANEE – Stephen P. Abel, 65, Syracuse, formerly of Wakarusa and Nappanee, died at 8:30 a.m. April 9, 2016, at his residence. He was born Aug. 27, 1950, in Wakarusa, to Paul and Evelyn Roose Abel. On May 26, 1973, in Nappanee, he married Barbara Fervida, who died Sept. 29, 2005. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Ed Geleske, Wakarusa United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Thursday. ***** Memorials to The Center For Hospice.
