Stephen A. Farner, 68, of 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, died at 11:33 a.m. April 9, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born April 23, 1939, in Ashland, Ohio, to Donald W. and Betty Jane Hart Farner. On June 21, 1958, in Michigan, he married Carolyn Adams, who survives.
Living in the Warsaw area most of his life, he worked at DePuy and Sofamor Danek, where he was director of manufacturing until 1994. From 1994-2003, he was owner of Macrotek, Warsaw. He was a 1957 graduate of White Swan High School, Washington. He was a craftsman, loved cars and was an auto racing enthusiast.
Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie (and spouse Randy) Schmucker, Warsaw, and Angela (and spouse Robert) Hansen, Johnsburg, Ill.; a son, James (and spouse Debbie) Farner, Tuscumbia, Ala.; two brothers, Donald G. Farner, Butler, Ohio, and Timothy H. Farner, Columbus, Ohio; his mother, Betty Jane Farner, Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents Ream V. and Ruth Hart.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Bryan Koorey officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
