SYRACUSE – Most people have their favorite television programs.
The Wawasee High School choirs will be highlighting some of the most well-known and well-liked shows when they present its 2012 pops show, “Stay Tuned.”
The concert is May 11-12 at 7:30 p.m. both nights in the high school auditorium. There will be song, dance, wild costuming, lighting, special effects, comedy and laughter, according to director Connie Meadows.
Music included is a tribute to some of the oldies but goodies in American television history, including “Happy Days,” “I Love Lucy,” “Casper,” “Mighty Mouse,” “The Adams Family,” “Mr. Ed,” “The Brady Bunch,” “The Jetsons,” “Star Trek,” “Cheers,” “Bewitched,” “The Flintstones” and “Laverne & Shirley” to name a few.
Old shows won’t be the only programs highlighted. Newer television programs like “Family Guy,” “The Simpsons,” “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Glee” also will get some stage time. There will be medleys of Journey’s music, The Blues Brothers and “Sesame Street.” Characters from “Sesame Street” also will make special appearances during the show.
Choreographers for the show are Jeff Cox, April and Scott Frazier and Alexis Linnemeier. Ken Strong is producing the lighting and special effects.
Tickets may be purchased from any choir student or by calling the high school at 574-457-3147. Tickets are $6 for children 12 and under, or $8 for adults. Seating is reserved.
