A maple tree along CR 100W, south of CR 900N, shows production at a standstill this morning. With the unusually cold weather, production of maple syrup has been put on hold. Carol Lemler, of Maple Land Farms, said she hasn't seen weather like this since 1960. A freeze at night and thawing temperatures during the day are ideal for the sap to run, but Lemlers have been able to boil sap only once so far this season, compared to at least 10 times by now during an average season.
