Heather Fox's first-grade students are enjoying learning about the different states of matter. They have recently been studying gases. They are learning that all matter, even gases, takes up space. They did an experiment using vinegar and baking soda and capturing the resulting gas in balloons. Following their experiment, the first-graders enjoyed some great fun with the balloons.
