State Reps

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
Well, I’ve seen it all now. Our state representatives, Bosma, Torr, Wolkins, Mclain and Kubacki, trying to push through a RTW bill that is not in the best interest of the American worker. It is to break the unions and lower wages on middle-class Americans. That was even stated by Rep. Kubacki, who said we make too much money and should take a pay cut (all while she lives in a $1.5 million home).

The reps say by lowering wages companies can hire more employees: Are you kidding me? When you see CEOs make $30 million a year and donate unbelievable amounts of money to political parties, why don’t these reps (who are supposed to be representatives of Indiana Hoosiers and not their own interests or big business) start with a pay cut themselves? Well, that’s not going to happen.

Rep. Wolkins stated that even though a majority of his constituents didn’t want the RTW bill he was going to do what he wanted (way to stand up for the Americans who put you in office, Dave). Did you know that Rep. Wolkins used to be president of the Teachers Association? Will he draw a pension from that?

How many of you are struggling right now? What are you going to do when your wages are cut? Will you be able to send your kids to college (or will that be for the rich only)? Will you be able to buy a new car, furniture, carpet, groceries, gas (which is projected to go to around $5 a gallon this summer)? These are the things American workers purchase daily that keeps Indiana going, but lower our wages and you end up with ghost towns.

I have a copy of a letter from Gov. Mitch Daniels from July 30, 2004, in which he thanked a union for supporting his candidacy for governor, and stated that he understood a union membership’s support for prevailing wages and that no need existed for a right to work state (flip flop). I will give a copy of it to the newspaper if they would like to print it.

This RTW bill provides that the statute does not apply to state and federal employees (good, that will help some workers survive), only union members. Kind of looks like a hate crime to me or discrimination.

I didn’t write this to bash any party, whether it be independent, Republican, Democrat or tea party. If these reps were of another party I’d write the same thing. This bill needs to be voted on by the citizens of the state of Indiana.

Ohio voted on their RTW bill and it was unanimously voted down 3 to 1 because they knew what would happen to their lifestyle if it passed.

As far as I’m concerned these representatives should be fired come November.

They are slowly working to take your rights away. I believe someone called it new world order.

An American worker,
