State Rep. Kubacki To Host Second 'Bringing Government Home Series'

State Representative Rebecca Kubacki will host a Bringing Government Home Series.
The event is Oct. 30 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. at Warsaw Community Public Library Room C. The event is free.
“Understanding how government works can sometimes be overwhelming,” Kubacki said in a press release. “I hope this will help clarify the mystery of your tax bill.”
The title of the event is, “How Did You Arrive At This Assessed Value?”
Kubacki said the property tax process is like a puzzle that the assessor, auditor and treasurer work on at different times to complete.
The assessor in Kosciusko County, Laurie Renier. sets the values, the auditor, Marsha McSherry, applies the exemptions and processes tax calculations, and turns this information into the treasurer, Sue Ann Mitchell.
A laptop will be available to look at tax information.
