State Police Seek Fugitive

State Police Seek FugitiveIndiana State Police are asking for help to find a fugitive who currently is out on bond from LaGrange County.

Nathan Kent Lumbard, 27, of Howe, was arrested on several charges, including battery causing serious bodily injury, battery with a deadly weapon and obstruction of justice, April 20.On April 24, Lumbard was released on a $200,000 bond and failed to appear at his June 22 court date in LaGrange County Circuit Court. Lumbard also is wanted by authorities in St. Joseph County, Mich., eight charges ranging from breaking and entering to assault, and he has failed to appear for court dates there as well.

On Aug. 12, the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department in Missouri received a report of a suicide note taped to a suitcase found on the Highway 62 Mississippi River Bridge that was said to have belonged to Lumbard. Rescue personnel from the Ballard County and Carlisle County sheriff's departments, as well as the United States Coast Guard, searched the river but did not locate a body. Indiana State Police Detective Jeff Boyd said that in his conversation with the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department, they were "very skeptical" of the entire incident.

Lumbard is described as a white male, 27 years of age, 5 feet, 6 inches, 160 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
