Our good neighbor across the road is spending some time in the south for some R & R. Recently, I sent them this e-mail.
This Friday morning sitting in my small den, windows separate me from 18 degrees below zero. However, coming through the same windows is a lavender-rimmed sunrise to a blue cloudless sky onto a fresh pure-white snow cover marked by shadows and thought-provoking animal tracks.
In the near distance barren trees standing silently waiting, waiting for that signal from God "do it once again." In the far distance are swiftly moving trucks on the highway leaving quickly disappearing vapor trails along their tops.
I have not been out all week for breakfast but have found that oatmeal flavored with peanut butter eaten in a home of many many years with my wife is a good way to start the day after all.
