An investigation is continuing after a father found a staple in a piece of candy his daughter got while trick-or-treating.
At around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department deputy Jeff Howie responded to a call from Andrew Hicks, 413 Wooster Road, Winona Lake.
Hicks stated that he was going through his daughter's candy after she went trick-or-treating in the Southbrook addition and found an open Reese's peanut butter cup with a small metal staple stuck in the side of it.
Hicks stated that Southbrook was the only neighborhood they visited.
No other incidents of tainted candy were reported as of this morning.
