NORTH MANCHESTER - Stanton J. Heeter, 77, of Roann, died at 10 a.m. March 15, 2011, in Duke's Memorial Hospital, Peru.
He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Laketon, to Stanton H. and Mary L. Sickafus Heeter. On June 3, 1969, he married Mary Alene Smith, who survives.
He graduated from Wabash High School in 1951. He and his wife owned and operated Heeter General Contracting, Roann, for more than 50 years.
Surviving are five sons: Thomas E. (and spouse Kellye) Heeter, Edmonds, Wash.; Scot A. Heeter and John M. (and spouse Shawna) Heeter, all of Roann; Phillip S. (and spouse Barb) Heeter, Peru; and Brian K. Heeter, North Manchester; six daughters: Mary Anna Coe, Marianne Chloe Bolin and Michelle (and spouse David) Fulkerson, all of Wabash; Laura May (and spouse Mike) Bradley and Miriam Ann Linkenhoker (and Junior Hiner) Linkenhoker, all of Ijamsville; and Sherry A. (and spouse Gale) Courtney, Roann; a brother, Donald B. (and spouse Mary) Heeter, Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Sharon (and spouse Thurman) Easterday, Ijamsville; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Lowell Burris officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery.
