SYRACUSE – Stanley Craig “Stan” Hutchison, 57, of Leesburg, passed away at 2:16 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1961, in Goshen, to Harold H. and Nancy Jean Roth Hutchison.
He was a lifetime Elkhart and Kosciusko County area resident and attended Fairfield High School.
He was married on April 2, 2002, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., to Kelly J. Barth Leer, who survives.
He was formerly employed at Borkholder Buildings & Supply in Nappanee for 30 years and at a veterinary poultry supply company.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Millersburg and formerly attended the Silver Street Mennonite Church in Goshen. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and family.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Hutchison of Leesburg; a stepdaughter, Chelsea Leer of Fort Wayne; three stepsons: John Leer of Syracuse, Robert Leer of Milford and Cody (Tiffany Jeffries) Leer of Syracuse; three stepgrandchildren; his parents, Harold and Nancy Hutchison of Goshen; three sisters: Debbie S. (Peter) Garber of Syracuse, Cathy J. (Greg) Yoder of New Paris and Lisa A. (Steve) Kammerdiener of Millersburg; eight nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Dwayne Runkle of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren in New Paris officiating.
