Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Syracuse man Tuesday afternoon after a brief stand-off.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to  7919 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to serve an active warrant for arrest on Reginald Thomas Williams, 36.

Deputies had previously filed charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office following an incident that occurred Monday.

Officers attempted to telephone Williams after information was obtained that he had weapons inside his residence.  Williams refused to exit his home while conversing with deputies and CR 1000 North was subsequently closed by Indiana State Police along with the Wawasee Middle School being placed on lock-down.

Family members were used to coax Williams from the residence. He surrendered without incident to deputies.

Kosciusko County deputies and detectives located several firearms inside Williams’s residence which were taken into custody for safe-keeping.

Williams was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail where he still remains this morning with a current bond of $5,000.
