Fifteen minutes late, the Warsaw Community School Board began its regular meeting Monday.
The board was in executive session for approximately 90 minutes discussing personnel issues, including the evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Dave McGuire.
During the regular meeting, board president Ron Yeiter said the evaluations will continue to another executive session at 5 p.m. Monday.
Staffing changes the board did approve included the resignations of Harrison Elementary fifth grade teacher Virginia Thorpe; Leesburg Elementary third grade teacher Laura Ramsey; Lincoln Elementary second grade teacher Hannah M. Loss; Harrison second grade teacher Tracie Kaiser; Washington teacher Nicole Porter; and Warsaw Community High School English teacher Pamela Chastain. Scott Bailey was approved as the first grade teacher at Washington; Tiffany Cooksey will teach second grade at Harrison; Amy Riley, social studies, at WCHS. Edgewood Middle School computer teacher David Bailey will transfer to WCHS as a social studies teacher, replacing Dan Groff. WCHS counselor Sandy Carmichael will become a family and consumer science teacher at WCHS.

Heard total student enrollment for Warsaw Schools is 6,580 students, up 134 from last year.
Heard the Student Resource Time at WCHS will remain for one hour per week during the 2005-06 school year, the same as this school year. SRT provides students with assistance who may not be able to receive the help before or after school.
Watched a shortened version of Mrs. Ringle's Harrison Elementary School third grade class' EdCom project. The students will present the project to Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels May 25 at 2 p.m. in Indianapolis.
Approved a donation of more than $20,000 from Kosciusko 21st Century Foundation Inc. to replace a wheelchair swing in the playground at Center Lake Park. A Warsaw student group submitted the grant application.
Approved a $500 donation from Warsaw Noon Optimists to Madison Elementary School to assist with the expense of the end of the year awards.
Heard a report on the construction update from CCI; a school options and status committee report; a report on the town meeting results; and heard the school improvement plans will be available to the public and school board in the central office.
Approved the science textbooks, summer school courses, a residential student placement resolution, a resolution to purchase awards locally when possible, adult education grant applications and the elementary handbook and WCHS student/parent handbook changes.
