Drugs and alcohol allegedly led an out-of-control Lucas Pierce to break into a Warsaw home, stab a man and then threaten to kill multiple children and adults. Warsaw Police responded at 12:07 a.m. today to Lot 46 at Shamrock Mobile Home Park on the north side of Warsaw. Officers were dispatched for a suspect with a knife when another call was received that a subject had been stabbed and the suspect still had the knife. Officers arrived and found Pierce inside the residence, brandishing the knife. Officers gave verbal commands for Pierce to drop the knife and he allegedly refused to comply. Officers then used a single stun gun discharge, which resulted in full neuromuscular incapacitation, and took Pierce into custody. The police investigation determined that an argument had occurred earlier in the evening and Pierce was locked out of the residence and left. He returned around midnight and attempted to get in and started pounding on the front door. He then attempted to enter through the back door where he encountered the male victim and cut him on the left shoulder and arm. Pierce gained entry and threatened to kill everyone there, including the small children that were present. To reinforce his threat, Pierce superficially cut his own throat. Pierce was described as out of control, and damaged items inside the residence. The investigation found that Pierce was under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs. The male victim was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released. The suspect was treated at KCH and medically cleared before being booked into the Kosciusko County Jail. Pierce was booked on felony charges of aggravated battery, intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief. He also was served with a warrant for public intoxication.
