The Warsaw Police Department is forwarding the case of a Warsaw man who was stabbed Friday night to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's office for charges to be investigated.
Luis German, 30, ran to the police department headquarters after he was stabbed in the ribs, groin and buttocks.
German told police he was drinking with three men in an apartment on Indiana Avenue on Friday. According to German, the fight started outside the apartment, and he was stabbed by one of the men.
Police interviewed several witnesses, who reportedly said German may have started the fight with a suspect before he was stabbed.
German was involved in another incident in August at the Dollar Inn. He and an alleged suspect reportedly fought with glass beer bottles and required stitches for resulting cuts.
Police reports indicate that alcohol may have been a factor in the stabbing incident. German and the witnesses reportedly admitted to drinking heavily before the fight.
German was released from Kosciusko Community Hospital on Monday.
The county prosecutor will decide if charges will be filed in the incident or if arrest warrants will be issued.
Police have identified a suspect, but have not made an arrest.
