St. Regis Club Hosting Private Art Show

Posted
The St. Regis Club will feature the artwork of Jason Rowland and Megan King in a private showing Saturday beginning at 8 p.m.
Rowland is a self-taught stencil graffiti artist from Winona Lake. He has been creating art all of his life, but took the leap of showing professionally only a few short years ago. In that time, he has received awards and praise for his take on pop style art.
Rowland mostly works on found materials, but uses canvas from time to time.  He has shown locally, nationally and internationally with shows in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, New York, Spain and Italy.
King is a native of Kosciusko County.  She grew up in North Webster, and studied fine arts (painting, drawing and photography) at IPFW.
Since then she’s completed several private commissioned figurative works, and resides in Warsaw.
King is also a singer/songwriter, and just finished her third album in Nashville with acclaimed producer Mark Hornsby (www.meganking.net).
While studying in college, she fell in love with the Surrealist movement, which can be seen in the dreamscapes captured in her paintings.
At Saturday’s show, King will feature some of her surrealist, figurative and landscape work. Also featured will be some designs compiled for local craftsman, Britton Day, who owns and founded “Institution Longboards.” A few of his handcrafted longboards will be displayed with design work featured by the artist.
