Squires' Soccer Season Ends In Sectional Loss To Blackhawk

FORT WAYNE – Manchester’s successful boys soccer season came to an end with a 4-0 sectional loss at 13th-ranked Fort Wayne Blackhawk Wednesday evening. According to a fax from head coach Dave McKee, Manchester had a chance to draw first blood, but Colin McNeeley couldn’t find the net on a breakaway. “(We) played hard and with a lot of heart. We need to get over thant next hump,” said McKee. Manchester finishes its season with a 14-2-1 record.
Wednesday in Argos In spite of playing with a lot of grit in the first half, according to Lakeland Christian head coach Vincent Sell, the Cougars lost its sectional opener 3-0 to Bremen at the Argos Sectional Wednesday evening. Sell said LCA had a good opportunity late in the second half to get a goal on the board as sophomore Garrett McCoomb would play the ball to Theran McKeever in Bremen's goal box. McKeever was taken down and LCA was awarded a penalty kick, which McCoomb could not convert into a goal. Lakeland Christian goalkeeper Cross Williams recorded 15 saves in the match. The Cougars completed their season with an 0-17 record.
