WABASH - The Manchester Squires made all of their free throws in the second half en route to a 68-62 Friday win over Southwood.
"We were behind 10 points twice in the game," Manchester coach Gary Goshert said. "In the fourth quarter, we really took care of the basketball. We made 10 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter and 11 of 11 in the second half."
The Squires hit 17 of 24 free throws, while Southwood hit 5 of 7. The Squires, playing without starting guard Brandon Reimer (hip injury), hit 24 of 47 shots from the floor. Chris Enyeart led the way with 17 points, while Rex Reimer and Eric Swan each scored 12. Scot Croner had 10.
"We had four boys in double figures, which was nice," Goshert said. "We had tremendous support off the bench in Steve Fawcett, Heath Simcoe and Chris Good."
The Squires trailed 49-47 after three quarters but outscored the Knights 21-13 in the final quarter.
Chris Enyeart paced the Squires with seven rebounds.
Southwood fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Manchester, 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the TRC, hosts Rochester on Friday.
