DENVER -ÊThe Manchester Squires got their second straight Three Rivers Conference win by beating North Miami 42-16 Friday.
Manchester's football team rushed for 287 yards on 57 carries, an average of five yards per carry.
The Squires were led by senior fullback Jon Gratz, who scored four touchdowns and rushed 15 times for 78 yards. Halfback Josh Peden gained 151 yards on 25 rushes as well.
"Jon is a fullback who has blocked well for us this year, and he just happened to get the ball at the right time," Manchester coach Al Bailey said. "We put together some long drives. On our opening drive, we drove down the field. We didn't have any big plays. It was just grind-it-down-the-field football."
Defensively, two players paced the Squires. Inside linebacker Kyle Powers had 14 total (solo and assisted) tackles, including one for loss. Defensive tackle Adam Young added 13 total tackles and one sack. Young had two tackles for loss.
Manchester is 3-2 overall and 2-1 in TRC play, while North Miami falls to 0-5 and 0-3. All TRC teams will play Saturday in the RCA Dome.
