Squad Car Damaged

Posted

Joan A. Fisher, 66, of Arnold Street, Warsaw, escaped injury when her van spun out of control on the ice-covered Ind. 15 overpass on U.S. 30 and went down an embankment about 10 a.m. Wednesday. She wasn't injured moments later, either, when another van spun out of control and struck the Warsaw Police Department squad car she was sitting in while the officer investigated the accident. Ptl. Joe McLaughlin noted in his report that the overpass was extremely icy at the time of the accidents and that he requested the State Highway Department to come out and spread abrasives. Damage to Fisher's van was estimated at $1,000 to $2,500. Indiana State Police investigated the accident involving the squad car, and that report was not available as of press time today.
