WINONA LAKE – Chuck and Lyndsey Springer’s jewelry and furniture art happened through evolution. Chuck has an old 1969 Dodge A100 van. He wanted to make some furniture for it, and during the process there were leftover car parts. During an interview Saturday at The Village at Winona 2012 Art Fair, Lyndsey said they started taking those pieces and making them into jewelry. It evolved to include furniture. Now, Chuck said, they go to junk yards and find old trunk lids, hoods and other car parts and use them to create their art. Chuck said more of their back story can be found at their website at sharpdressedvan.com Saturday’s Art Fair was the first time they participated in a fair to display and sell their wares. “We’re having a blast so far,” Lyndsey said. It might be awhile before they participate in their next art fair, however. “We’re getting married next weekend, so it’s been kind of busy,” Chuck said. Lyndsey said they are scoping out future art shows to take part in.
