Sports Roundup: Triton Fall To Caston Comets In Season Opener, 6-0FULTON – Caston’s Carson Gates scored a first-quarter touchdown, accounting for all the scoring in the Comets’ 6-0 win over Triton in Hoosier North Athletic Conference play and the season opener for both teams.
Trojan quarterback James Snyder completed nine passes for 85 yards, and was intercepted once. Zac Pitney caught four passes for 43 yards, and Drew Stichter had two receptions for 20 yards. Malachi Greene caught two balls for 16 yards.
Triton travels to longtime conference rival LaVille on Friday.

Mississinewa Routs Squires, 48-7
NORTH MANCHESTER – Visiting Mississinewa could almost do no wrong Friday night, including kicking an extra point that hit the crossbar and went over, as the Indians defeated Manchester 48-7 in a non-conference football game.
Indian quarterback Cade McCoin threw touchdown passes of 28, 25 and 24 yards and by 2:12 of the second quarter Mississinewa led 20-0.  The last four of their touchdowns were runs of 11, 5, 10 and 20 yards..
The Indians had one last drive in the fourth quarter that started from their own 43. Freshman Cade Campbell, in the game for the first time, carried the ball four times in a row for a total of 59 yards, including a 35-yard run to the Manchester 5-yard line; the game's longest play from scrimmage. After Campbell's four-yard carry to the Manchester one, Mississenewa's QB took a knee and ran out the clock.
Manchester scored its only touchdown with 3:10 left in the fourth quarter on a five-yard run by quarterback Hayes Sturtsman.
Sturtsman completed 14 passes for 92 yards with one interception. Devon Rooney had four receptions for 36 yards, and Parker Yard caught three passes for 25 yards.
Manchester plays host to Bluffton Friday.

Lady Tigers Fall To HSE
SOUTH BEND – Warsaw’s girls soccer team fell 5-0 to Hamilton Southeastern in the opening round of the St. Joseph Invitational Friday night.
“I believe that we, as a team, now know what we must become in order to achieve the goals that we all have,” said Warsaw head coach Peter Lucht.
The Lady Tigers (2-1) play Chesterton in a second game of the  tournament today.
