FISHERS-CASTLETON – Spencer Ryan Lancaster, 8, of Westfield, passed away Aug. 28, 2011. He fought an inspiring three-year and four-month battle with a brain tumor.

He was born July 7, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, to Shawn and Jill, who survive.

He attended Oak Trace Elementary, Westfield, where he completed second grade and will be loved and remembered indefinitely. He enjoyed learning to read, math challenge, soccer, basketball and baseball. He was a team captain in the Relay for Life of Westfield, a Gary Brackett’s Impact Award winner, an Indiana Hero’s Award winner and an honorary member of the I.U. baseball team.

Our family was blessed with this beautiful boy and further blessed by the outpouring of love from our neighbors, the church, his school, the community and many friends that has endured through the ups and downs of his short life.

Also surviving are his brothers, Noah, 10, and Hunter, 5; grandparents, Edward and Nancy Antonides  and Mark and Sandi Lancaster, all of Warsaw, and Michael and Joan Lytle, Lanesville; and great-grandparents, Kahte Antonides, Milford, and Marie Lancaster, of Niles, Mich.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Christ United Methodist Church, 318 N. Union St., Westfield. Burial will be in Little Eagle Creek Cemetery, Westfield.

Calling is from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church.
