The community is invited to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of Special Olympics in Kosciusko County. The event is free to the public Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Center Lake Pavillion, Warsaw. Grill-N-Grate will serve a barbecue meal for $6.50. Activities include dancing, corn toss, silent auction and a cake decorating contest along with door prizes. Moxie will provide the musical entertainment. Marti Thompson, Milford, is making the 40-year album. There are items for auction, including two Rick Fox signed basketballs and a Special Olympics-themed quilt made by Judy Weidner. Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to more than 4 million athletes in 170 countries.
