Special Education Activities

Posted

Three fourth-grade students at Pierceton Elementary are making a difference in special education. Makayla Compton, Kiara Fugett and Renae Lehman have been helping their peers in Mrs. Klepinger’s functional skills classroom since the beginning of the school year. They come to the special needs classroom and do a variety of activities with the students such as singing and movement, fine motor practice, spelling and working on sharing and taking turns through playing games. These three students truly have a heart for special needs kids and all have expressed interest in working with special needs in the future. The functional skills classroom at PES has provided an environment for these students to pursue their passion and be mentors to their peers.
