South Whitley Elementary held its annual fifth-grade spelling bee Dec. 13. Twenty-four participants competed in the 14-round bee after having studied for two months. The winner was Rozlyn Bishop, and the runnerup was Maren Lehman. Bishop correctly spelled the word 'dandruff' and 'penalty' to take the prize. She will compete in the county bee at South Whitley Elementary School Feb. 3.
