SOUTH WHITLEY - At Tuesday night's meeting, the South Whitley Town Council heard the town may not need a bond for the combined sewer overflow project, pending State Revolving Fund (SRF) funding.
Town attorney Gregg Hockemeyer said depending on the bids for the project and the forgivable loan, the town may not have to adjust rates. Hockemeyer said they will know more by the end of September.
Clerk-Treasurer Alyssa Knepple said she spoke with the postmaster about residents' utility bills arriving late. All mail is routed first to Fort Wayne for sorting even if mailed from and to South Whitley, and Knepple said it is mainly the postcard bills that are arriving late.
There was no new business.
Council approved a claims docket of $417,113.44 and pay issued Aug. 5 and Aug. 12 totaling $18,879.64 and $6,660.35, respectively.
Council will next meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
