South Whitley Spell Bowl Teams competed Thursday night in statewide competition at the Honeywell Center in Wabash. The fifth grade team recorded its highest score for a South Whitley team finishing second nearly with Coesse Elementary School at the Wabash site. A highlight for the team was that member Johnny Couch spelled all of his words correctly. The fourth-grade team was excited that for the first time there was a separate division for fourth-graders. They finished 52nd out of 62 fourth-grade teams in the small school division.
