Chances are, most of the teams at Tuesday's Quiz Bowl, to benefit the Warsaw Education Foundation, knew the answers to these questions and more.
Thirty-one teams, from area businesses, organizations and schools gathered Tuesday in the Career Center gym at Warsaw Community High School to raise more than a total of $6,000 for the WEF. It was the sixth annual Quiz Bowl.
This year's winner was the team from Source One Insurance: Dave Baumgartner, Dan Copeland, Jim Harvuot, Carla Messmore and Diane Wulliman. Second place went to the "Boneheads": Dean Jansen, Toby Buck, Jean Northenor, Dane Miller and Steve Hollar. In third place was the team from Morning Optimists:
The WEF is a nonprofit organization that gives grants to schools and educators. The grants are intended to help fill the gap between state funding and monies necessary to finance cutting-edge or academically challenging programs.
WEF also sponsors such programs as Partners in Education, academic excellence recognition and EdCom.
