What an amazing community we live in! For three years we were unable to hold our annual Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Soup & Pie Luncheon. This year, we decided to give it a shot, and are so glad we did. We were overwhelmed with the turnout of people that came to support the Salvation Army Food Pantry. In John 6:1-14 Jesus helped feed the 5,000 with two loves of bread and two small fish. We know He led the people to our event but sure wish we could have turned something into more soup. We had no idea we would have such a great attendance. We apologize to those who didn't get their choice of soup but hope they still had a good time visiting with friends or making new ones. Please give us a chance to do better next year.
This event would not have been possible without our hardworking Auxiliary ladies! It has been said that they are a "force to be reckoned with,” and they sure proved that to be true. Thank you, ladies (and a few husbands) for your help making this event a success. YOU ARE APPRECIATED! Thank you to First United Methodist Church for the use of your facility and help when needed. Thanks to the Times-Union, the Paper and radio station for publicizing our event. Also, thank you to the high school students who helped us so much, and Hal Heagy for his delicious broccoli cheese soup. Thank you to all of you who attended our event, spent time with friends and helped the Salvation Army provide for those in need in Kosciusko County. See you next year!!
