Representative Mark Souder is running a television ad in which he expresses concern about his grandson's future and the need for energy supplies. Souder supports "drilling, nuclear and clean coal" to provide for the future, but he seems to have no worries about the damage that burning oil and coal are doing to our climate, changing the world his grandson will live in.Souder wants "a country he can afford to live in" (dependent on oil) for his grandson, but he expresses no concern about the record-breaking deficit he and his cronies have run up for his grandson to pay off. Sadly, all Souder wants is a continued reliance on old energy and broken fiscal policies.
Enough! I have a grandson, too. I want him to have a cleaner world, one that used renewable energy sources. Dogged dependence on oil and coal won't bring that about, but innovation and change will. I want my grandson to benefit from a sound, well-managed economy, not pay off the debts from another generation. That is why I am voting for Mike Montagano for Congress and Barack Obama for president.
