Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District may soon have a new education outreach and marketing coordinator.
On Tuesday, the Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District Board heard that information from KCSWMD Director Tom Ganser. Though the board didn't have a normal meeting as it didn't have a quorum, Ganser did report on a few items.
"I think by the end of the week, possibly early next week, we'll have an offer on the table for our new educator," he said.
The person hired will manage social media on behalf of the district as well as speak on recycling at local schools.
In other business, the board:
• Heard from Ganser that 873 tires were brought in during the depot's tire recycling event May 12-16. Several temporary workers helped with the event.
• Heard that Ganser was to meet with Kosciusko County clerk-treasurers on Thursday just to assess what recycling needs were in their communities.
• Heard that the depot averaged about 40 visits per day last month of people bringing in items.
The board's next meeting is 11 a.m. June 17 at the depot.
