Solicitation

Editor, Times-Union:

Today I received a letter from Doug Giles, the father of the young lady, Hannah Giles, who was on national news some months ago as one of the young journalists who helped to expose ACORN for the cesspool of moral filth it has turned out to be.

Among other things, Doug said: "As a father I wanted to protect Hannah from harm, something I know I can't always do. Because Hannah was sued for exposing ACORN.

"When I first saw the undercover videos of ACORN employees working to facilitate child prostitution, counseling tax and mortgage fraud, and even encouraging the trafficking of illegal immigrants to be used as sex slaves, my jaw hit the floor.

"Hannah's idea to do an exposé of ACORN was bold and courageous, (just as I raised her.)

"In cities across America - Baltimore, Washington, San Diego she caught ACORN workers willing to sell their souls to facilitate the worst sorts of evil - and I knew that when all exploded repercussions."

Good: Total unmasking of ACORN for what it is. Even Barack Obama's long history with ACORN. He ran their registration drives, provided legal counsel, and his campaign gave ACORN $832,000 to help get him elected

Then the $8 billion in federal funds was yanked and the taxpayer spigots are being turned off! ACORN and all their devotees may be a bit unhappy for some time to come, could be putting it mildly.

By exposing ACORN, Hannah made some very powerful enemies among ACORN, the radical left and the Obama administration. Then started the lawsuits. Two employees in the Baltimore ACORN demanded $5 million for "mental anguish." Sounds like real anguish. (Conscience, maybe?)

We know this is only the beginning. They have vowed, revenge and it would be a great surprise if it is not long and expensive, but, Mr. Editor, it would not surprise me if some of our readers contact Jodie and me for the address of Doug Giles and his brave daughter, Hannah.

We plan to send a few dollars to help, but our little bit will need a lot of company to get the job done.
