Soccer Sectional Draw AnnouncedINDIANAPOLIS – The IHSAA announced sectional pairings for boys and girls soccer Sunday evening. Championship games in all sectionals are scheduled for Oct. 7, with regionals played Oct. 14.
Area Boys Draw
In the 3A Warsaw Sectional, the host Tigers will play Fort Wayne South in the tourney opener at 5 p.m. Monday, followed by Huntington North and Fort Wayne Wayne.
The winners will play in one semifinal Oct. 4, and the other semi features East Noble and Fort Wayne Northrop.
The winner in the Warsaw Sectional advances to the Kokomo Regional.
Wawasee hosts a 2A sectional, with NorthWood and West Noble playing in the opening game Monday. The Warriors take on the Lakeland Lakers in the second game of the doubleheader.
The winners from Monday face each other in the first semifinal at 5 p.m. Oct. 4, with Angola and Garrett playing in the second semi at 7 p.m. The sectional champion will play in the Mishawaka Marian Regional.
In the 2A Maconaquah Sectional, Manchester plays the host Braves in the second game at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, following the Peru-Fort Wayne Concordia opener. Those two winners meet in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 4.
Tippecanoe Valley has a bye into the semis, where it faces Columbia City at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4. The sectional champion moves on to the Oak Hill Regional.
Lakeland Christian has a bye into the semifinals at the 1A Argos Sectional. The Cougars will play the winner between the host Dragons and North Miami.
Caston and Winamac play in the second game of the tourney, and that winner will play either Culver Community or Oregon-Davis in the other semifinal. Argos will also host a regional tournament.
Area Girls Sectionals
Just as in the Warsaw boys sectional, the Lady Tigers open the 3A Fort Wayne South Sectional playing the host Lady Archers in the first game of the sectional Oct. 2. The winner gets Fort Wayne Wayne in the semifinals. Huntington North and Homestead have byes in to the semis, and will play one another.
The sectional champion will play in the Logansport Regional.
Wawasee and NorthWood drew byes in the 2A Lakeland Sectional, and will face each others in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Oct. 5. Angola and the host Lady Lakers open the tournament Oct. 3, followed by DeKalb and West Noble in the second game. The Lakeland Sectional winner plays in the Plymouth Regional.
Lakeland Christian will play Lakewood Park Christian in the second game of the 1A Bethany Christian Sectional, following the opener between Central Noble and Westview.
Those winners will play in the first semifinal, followed by the host Lady Bruins and Elkhart Christian. The sectional winner plays in the LaVille Regional.
Whitko and Manchester will play in back-to-back games to open the 1A Fort Wayne Blackhawk Sectional. The Lady Wildcats play Woodlan in the first game at 5 p.m. Oct. 3, and the Lady Squires face South Adams in Game 2 at 7 p.m.
The winners of those two games play in the first semifinal at 5 p.m. Oct. 5, followed by Blackhawk and Fort Wayne Canterbury. The Blackhawk Sectional winner advances to the Northwestern Regional near Kokomo.
