So Wrong

“Homeless Man Busted for Meth,” you know we all really don’t know how people get messed up on any drug, or alcohol, whether it be pot, pills, beer or hard liquor, or anything that alters the way we think and act. Everyone has their own story as to why they fell short of the best they could be. And I’m sure they all have a reason or excuse for what happened.

Maybe they had it all, was good citizen, and hard honest worker. Maybe they never had anything. Maybe they were raised with it from their own parents. I could go on and on as why some people got into these habits. But could I say this reason is why this person did it, or that reason is why another did it? No. Because I don’t know these people personally, I haven’t been in the homes of all the people who do drugs, drink alcohol take pills or all of the above. I can only guess why a person has done this, and unless you’re everyone’s friend or family member, you can’t either.

But you know even when this happened to “the homeless man busted for meth,” do we know why he was homeless, living in a house boat on a friend’s lot in Enchanted Hills? He was evicted from his home cause he was also caught up in helping friends when he should of helped himself. Yes, he got behind on rent and we all know what happens after that.

William F. McMahan is a man, a son, a brother, uncle, cousin, papa to a lot of people and most of all a very good friend to many more. He is one of the most respected marina mechanics in the state of Indiana. This man would give shirt off his back to who ever needed it, has the heart of gold, worked hard all his adult life. He has been there for his family and friends when they needed to be taken somewhere – doctor appointments, grocery store, school events for their children, help them move, help pay their electric bill, gas bill, fix their cars and trucks, mow their grass, the list could go on.

Yes, he got in trouble. Never been in any trouble before this. So, let me ask you this. Since this happened to him, does that give any right for people to go and steal from him, take what he has worked for, for people to be thieves in the night?

Well, let me tell you this has happened. People have stolen this man’s property just because he is in jail, because of his charges. Now that all his property has been stolen, and let me tell you a police officer told this person he could take it, which is so wrong and is a offense in itself. Scrapping is big these days, but why steal it from someone just because he’s in jail. Now he has nothing to sell to get bond. He could of helped himself with all this.

Let’s do something about this and, of course, all the people he has helped are nowhere. They just decided they go find someone else to pay for their things. Something needs to be done about this. This man could help himself but that chance was taken with his property stolen. It’s just not right. This is still America. People have to get an education on these things. Please see that something can be done if we know, there is a problem.
