A fire at Biomet over the Labor Day weekend caused very little damage to the plant.
According to Bill Kolter, corporate vice president of Biomet Inc., it was a contained electrical fire that did not set off any fire alarms.
A team member at Biomet detected the fire, which did not spread.
No one was injured and no significant damage was caused. The smoke and soot from the small blaze required cleaning, and one machine was damaged.
All shifts at the company remain in production, and there will be no interruption in the supply of product to customers.
Biomet must take care of some cleanup from a regulatory standpoint, but Kolter said the situation is well under control.
"We don't anticipate any significant repercussions from this at all," Kolter said.
