Six candidates will vie for positions on the Kosciusko REMC Board of Directors. Incumbents Fred Powell, Don Arnold and Steve Miner are opposed by new candidates Anthony Fleming, Dennis Darr and Dean Rhoades, respectively. KREMC members will elect three to director positions during the electric cooperative's 68th Annual Meeting April 14.
A long-standing cooperative tradition, this year's meeting will be held at Warsaw Community Church, 2300 Ranch Road, Warsaw. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., at which time KREMC members can peruse the pre-meeting expo with various booths and activities, including a free health screening by Kosciusko Community Hospital. The meeting begins at 10 a.m.
Other highlights of the meeting include executive reports, the announcement of the 2007 Youth Tour and Touchstone Energy Camp delegates, and entertainment by renowned musical duo Cook and Belle. Another feature of the meeting is a separate kids program, which will be held during the business meeting, and will showcase magician Scott Davis.
The meeting also offers members a chance to win one of many door prizes. Kids in attendance will have the opportunity to win a prize, as well. In addition to the door prize drawing, each member present at the meeting will receive a $5 credit toward their next electric bill.
"We are anticipating a great meeting this year, and I strongly encourage each of our members to attend," said KREMC CEO Steve Rhodes. "For one, the annual meeting represents a unique opportunity for our members to take an active role in their electric utility. It also offers the chance to meet the leadership of the co-op and see how the business is being operated."
