Six Alcohol Licenses Renewed By Beverage Commission

Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Board approved six license renewals Thursday, including one with a gaming permit violation. The Barbee Landing had operated for a few weeks on an expired gaming license, manager Misty Converse told the board, earning them a violation in May 2013. She said the former manager claimed to have renewed it. The restaurant paid a fine of $250 and the state seized $1,400 from the pull-tab machine that had been earned while the permit was expired. “That’s a lot to lose just because somebody lied to you,” board member Elim Smith remarked. Converse added that they have made sure to get ahead of both the alcohol and gaming permits into 2015. The board also approved license renewals for Aldi, Warsaw; Lance’s New Market, North Webster; Freedom Express, Etna Green; Circle K, North Webster; and the Boathouse Restaurant, Winona Lake.
