SYRACUSE – Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team currently is investigating a traffic fatality that claimed the life of a Syracuse man Monday night.
The victim was identified as Ronnie S. Zentz, 44, according to a press release from Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
KCSD deputies responded to a call Monday at 9:05 p.m. near Hasse Court and CR 1000N, Syracuse.
KCSD Cpl. Travis Shively arrived to the scene and located a single vehicle that had left the roadway and hit a tree. Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello determined that Zentz had died from what appears to be blunt force trauma.
FACT members stated that a preliminary investigation into the crash determined that Zentz had been traveling east on CR 1000N. Officers stated that it appeared from scene evidence that Zentz’s vehicle slid as it entered into a curve, and traveled off the roadway surface, striking the tree.
Kosciusko County officials stated that the crash is still under investigation.  Kosciusko County FACT members were assisted at the scene by the Milford Fire Department, Syracuse Police Department, Lutheran EMS and the Indiana State Police.
