The Mellowaires are a group of senior citizens who love to sing and especially to sing for other people. The group goes to nursing homes, retirement homes and other places when invited. The songs are the “old, standard ones” that bring back memories. and inspirational ones that folks remember and love. They are happy to see them join in, mouthing the words, tapping a foot, even going to sleep as they entertain. They include some comedy and light hearted songs in their programs. They welcome anyone who likes to sing, and no auditions are needed. You just need to want the fun of singing. They practice each Tuesday afternoon at the Senior Activity Center, Park Avenue, Warsaw, unless they are giving a program that day. Call Director Dorine Barkes at 574-267-4781, or accompanist, Norma, Roose, at574-834-2994, for more information. If you like to sing and help make people happy, they would love to have you join them.
