A Silver Lake woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Fulton County.
Brittany Scutchfield, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fulton County Coroner’s Office.
Emergency personnel were called at 9:55 a.m. to 610 S. Ind. 14, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found Scutchfield to be trapped and unresponsive in the Ford Explorer. After being extricated, life-saving measures were performed, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Scutchfield was driving north on Ind. 14 when, for an unknown reason, the Explorer went off the west side of the road and hit a tree.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Along with the FCSO and the Fulton County Coroner’s Office, Indiana State Police, Akron Police Department, Lutheran EMS, Henry Township Fire Department responded to the scene.
