SILVER LAKE - In a brief meeting Wednesday night, Silver Lake Town Superintendent Jasun Blocher was suspended for two weeks without pay and put on six months probation.
According to Silver Lake Clerk-Treasurer Angie Glass, Blocher also will have to return all town equipment and tools.
Any repeat violations by Blocher will result in termination. He is no longer allowed to make purchases of more than $500 for the town unless it's approved by the board.
Street department employees Joey McNeal and Trevor Garris also were reprimanded.
McNeal was given a one-week suspension without pay and three months probation. Garris received three days suspension without pay and a month's probation.
Blocher, McNeal and Garris comprise the entire street department for Silver Lake so, according to Glass, their suspensions will be staggered so town services don't stop.
The suspension resulted from a single incident, Glass said, though she said she couldn't go into details of that incident. Those details were also not brought up during Wednesday night's meeting.
The council held an executive session before the public meeting.
Glass said the town was informed of the incident last week but wouldn't say who informed the town.
According to the Silver Lake town website, Blocher is also the assistant fire chief while Garris is the second lieutenant
