Posted
SILVER LAKE - The family of a Silver Lake man is concerned for his safety after he left his home late Tuesday night and has not returned.

Jolene Huiras, of CR 900S, Silver Lake, contacted the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department Wednesday to make a report about the disappearance of her husband of 25 years, William Ray Huiras, 62.Jolene said William developed paranoid schizophrenia after a kidney transplant about five years ago, and he currently is off his medication.

Jolene told police she and William had an argument Wednesday evening, and she went to bed. When her son arrived home around 11 p.m., William was gone.

William went to his son's home in Wabash, but left around 11:45 p.m. and "seemed fine."

However, William did not return to his Silver Lake home.

There is a record of William withdrawing money from a bank in Sandusky, Ohio, around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, and nothing has been heard since.

Jolene said William has no history of suicidal thoughts.

She also said he had one friend who recently moved to Ohio, but that friend has not heard from William.
