Silver Lake Man Hospitalized for Self-Sustained Gunshot

SILVER LAKE – A Silver Lake man was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne by ambulance after suffering an accidental self-sustained gunshot wound at his home early Thursday. Anthony Serrano, who turned 53 the same day, of 5226 W. CR 950S, was taking his North American arms small .22 caliber revolver out of his right pocket as it accidentally discharged. The round entered his right thigh. After a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy spoke with Serrano and his wife, it was determined the shooting was accidental. Serrano has been released from the hospital since the incident.
