Silver Lake Man Found Dead In Car

Posted

Officials are awaiting a cause of death for a Silver Lake man found Friday afternoon inside his vehicle parked on a Silver Lake street.

William Edmund "Willie" Iseton, 37, of 127 N. Crappie Road, Silver Lake, was last seen about 8 p.m. Thursday when he reportedly left the Silver Inn. Patrons of the establishment apparently helped Iseton to his vehicle, which was parked east of the bar, at 108 N. Main St., Silver Lake. Iseton was found dead in his car at about 1 p.m. Friday.

Deputy coroner John Sadler said an autopsy performed Saturday revealed no anatomical cause for Iseton's death, but agreed with a statement from Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine that the death may have been a result of hypothermia.

Sadler said temperatures overnight Thursday and into Friday were in the teens and single digits. The keys for the vehicle were found on the floor board of the vehicle, so Iseton apparently did not start the car in an attempt to keep warm.

Officials are awaiting the return of a toxicology report to determine the level of alcohol in Iseton's system. The timeframe for the results of the report could be several weeks, Sadler said.

Iseton's obituary appears on Page 3A of today's Times-Union.
